Dawn Merritt
CEO / CO-Founder
Dr. Dawn Merritt, CEO and owner of Oakview Dermatology, is a Board Certified Dermatologist who specializes in cosmetic, surgical and general dermatology. Dr. Merritt is a 2003 graduate of Ohio University's College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her dermatology residency with O’Bleness Memorial Hospital in June of 2008. Dr. Merritt opened her own practice after completing her dermatology residency and has since expanded it by eight additional offices. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and Ohio Dermatology Association.
Jim Merritt
President / CO-Founder
Jim was educated at the Ohio State University, focusing on global banking economics while simultaneously pursuing his biological sciences interest. After a colleague purchased a distressed company, Jim went to work for Ultrablend as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, where he helped lead the company's turnaround and was also listed as the inventor of several patents for new products. Jim took these skills to his new post as VP of Sales and Marketing of the International Tape Company (North America), after which he founded Phoenix Tapes in 2011, where he still serves as Chairman.
Leslie Lucas
Head of Clinical Trials
Leslie was born and raised in Southeastern Ohio, where she continues to live with her husband and daughter. She has been with Oakview Dermatology since opening in 2008 and moved into the role of Chief Operating Officer in 2016. Leslie earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management and an MBA through Ohio University’s College of Business. In addition to managing daily operations and HR at Oakview, Leslie is also the Biologic Coordinator and is an educator for several of the biologic companies.
Brittany Elbin
Clinical Trials Coordinator
Brittany Eblin is the clinical trial coordinator for Merritt Biosciences. She graduated from nursing school in 2008 where she promptly started her career in Dermatology. Brittany has had many roles with Oakview since starting here in 2016, but her favorite role is working with patients and making a difference in their day to day lives.
Alexa Israeli
Sub-Investigator
Alexa Israeli, D.O., is our sub-investigator at Merritt Biosciences in Athens, OH. Dr. Israeli graduated from medical school in sunny Florida at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, FL. She then went on to complete her internship residency training at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital in the Tampa Bay area. Dr. Israeli has a special interest in treating itch and psoriatic skin conditions.
